Two days a week at the STAR Language, your child’s coach will be ready to guide with assigned worksheets.
There’s an assigned portion of reading each week, there is a portion of writing each week, a response, a summary, or an analysis of what they read. When students hand in an assignment, we look at the assignment together with the coach, we go through the grammar, content, and structure of the assignment.
The IB English curriculum focuses more on literary analysis and requires the student to be more engaged with the reading material. We go more in depth of the historical background of each text – How it influences the authors motivation. The need for self-reflection and thinking is much deeper on the student. This program is sure to challenge and test any student who may be preforming beyond their grade level already.
